Recess Time - January 2

Hello Boys and Girls-I hope you are having a nice January 2 and that it is time for breakfast or brunch at your house. If not, do you ever have breakfast foods for dinner? When my children were little their favorite dinner was PANCAKES! Can you believe it? Anyway, I have a student named Garret who likes to make a certain special meal for his family and I wanted to share his recipe with you. By the way, Garret is in the fourth grade.

Poached Eggs By Garret

What you need" :

1. As many eggs as your family will eat

2. A frying pan

3. A little milk

4. A little butter or margarine

5. English muffins

What To Do

1.Fill the frying pan about 1/3 full with water, a little milk, and just a little butter or margarine (About one tablespoon)

2. Bring it to a gentle boil and crack the eggs into the pan carefully. 3. Simmer for 3 minutes if you like soft yolks or for hard yolks cook two minutes longer 4. Take the eggs out with a slotted spoon and place on top of English muffins 5. ENJOY

I like to serve this yummy brunch with some fruit salad made with apple, oranges, and bananas. I also like to add a glass of orange juice.

Have a great brunch and I will see you tomorrow with a fun picture to color. Send me an email if you have an idea for things to do on the calendar or if you have read a good book. jlresource@aol.com.

See you tomorrow! Mrs. L.
