Recess Time-January 6

Hi, Boys and Girls-Welcome to January 6. Today we are going to do a project that everyone does in the month of January. We are going to cut out a snowflake. In fact, if you want to and you have the paper, you can cut out as many as you like.

All you need is a pair of scissors and some paper. Use a piece of paper that is about the same size as the snowflake you want. Fold the paper in half, then in half again and if you can, fold it one more time. You should fold your paper as many times as you can but be sure that you are still able to cut it with your scissors.

After you have folded, cut out little pieces from the edges. Cut our wedges, little half circles, and even make some square cuts. After you have made lots of cuts and cut out lots of little pieces, unfold your paper. You should see a beautiful snowflake. If you would like to see a picture of a snowflake, go to the coloring section of the site and you will see a great one. You will also see a picture of a snowboarder to download and color.

When you finish your snowflakes, hang them up all over the house for winter decorations.

See you tomorrow with another great craft idea. By the way, if you don't have your white tempra yet, there is a brand called Prang Washable Paint (by Dixon) that is very good and low priced. See you tomorrow-Mrs. L.
