Recess Time - January 10

Hi, Boys and Girls and welcome to January 10. Today we are going to do something I have been telling you about for quite awhile. We are going to get our junk box ready to go. You might ask your mom or dad or any older person to help you put this together but I want you to do the decorations yourself. I will start with a list of some things you might need.

Junk Box List

  1. scissors

  2. white tempra and other colors (Prang Washable is a good brand)

  3. any scraps of paper or old wrapping paper

  4. brown paper bags

  5. scraps of cloth

  6. pieces of thread

  7. white glue

  8. a glue stick

  9. paper plates

  10. popsicle sticks or tongue depressors

  11. old ribbons

  12. crayons, paints or markers

  13. a pencil and eraser

  14. ruler

  15. toilet paper and towel rolls (The inside cardboard part)

  16. scotch tape

  17. Q-tips

  18. pieces of cotton

  19. anything else you can think of!

  20. Finally-if you have a suggestion that is not on this list, email (jlresource@aol.com) it to me

After you get all of your stuff together, ask your mom for a box to put it in. If not a box, ask for a big grocery store bag with a handle. You could use an old toy box, a leftover box from Christmas or anything. Use your imagination (im a jin ay shun)! Decorate your box with cut and glue paper, contact paper, paint, markers and crayons or whatever you think looks good.

See you tomorrow for a great craft using some of your stuff. Mrs. L.
