RECESS - March 12

Hi, Boys and Girls. Today is March 12. I have a great brunch recipe for you today that is from a wonderful cookbook. It is not really a cookbook just for children it has recipes in it that are easy enough for children and others that are for grown-ups only, and some that are perfect for grown-ups and children to make together. This one is easy but remember, it is always a good idea to have a grown-up close at hand when you are in the kitchen. This is from a cookbook called "SHARED TASTES" I will be giving you other recipes from this book just because it is soooo good. I will also have recipes from "SHARED TASTES" on the parents section of the site. Here goes:

What You Need:

½ stick of butter

½ cup of sugar

½ cup orange juice concentrate-that is the stuff you use to mix with water to make OJ.

1 dozen parker house brown and serve rolls

Rind (the outside orange stuff) from two oranges-grated (I do this by rubbing the oranges on a cheese grater.)

What To Do:

Melt the butter in a small pan. Add sugar and orange juice concentrate. Dip the top of each roll in the mixture, then sprinkle with orange rind. Bake the rolls according to the directions on their package.

This recipe is really yummy and great for Sunday breakfast or brunch. I like to have these sweet rolls with a fruit salad. Yummmy!! See you tomorrow for a Hidden Picture and Color activity. Mrs. L.
