RECESS - March 19

Hi, Boys and Girls-I hope you have been enjoying the March calendar. Today is March 19 and we are going to be having "Fun With Food" today. I have a delicious (dee lish us) recipe for us and it really is fun. It is one of those recipes that lets you just smush everything in the pbow together at one time and bake something really yummmmy! It is called Sweet Cornbread and it comes from the "Shared Tastes" cookbook that I have been using for our recipes lately. Here goes:

What You Need:

¾ cup sugar

6 Tablespoons oil

2 eggs already beaten up

1 ½ cups flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 ½ cups stone ground cornmeal (polenta)

1 cup milk

½ cup corn (You may use frozen or canned but it should be well drained.)

What to do:

Just put it all in a bowl and mix it up. Pour everything into a 9 inch pan you have smushed around with butter, margarine or oil to grease. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Enjoy.

See you tomorrow for a "First Day of Spring" picture to color. Mrs. L.
