RECESS - March 26Hi, Boys and Girls-Today is March 26. I have a craft for you today so get out your junk box. If you haven’t started your junk box yet today is a good day to do it. Remember, a junk box is what you should have for all of the crafts we do. What should be in your junk box?? Well, JUNK of course. I mean stuff like crayons, markers, scissors, white glue, scraps of paper and cloth, old funny papers, magazines to use for pictures, a stapler, a ruler and lots more stuff. From time to time I will mention something good to add to your junk box or say: "Now get out your junk box!" and you will know what I mean. Your box should be pretty big. I use a box I got from my school that was used for computer paper. It is about 18 inches deep and 30 inches long. It has a lid and I covered it with contact paper. Anyway, here is our craft for today. Pencil Holder What you need:
What To Do: Measure the can with your ruler and cut the computer paper exactly the same sixe as the can. Decorate the paper with your markers. Draw anything you like. I made mine with flowers and a sunny day but one of my students made his with characters from a video game. When your paper is decorated, put white glue on the back and wrap it around the can. It will stick better if the can still has the wrapper around it but it really does not matter. Scroll down to see the one I made. I use it for pencils on my desk but if you want to you can use it to but flowers in too because it will hold water. See you tomorrow!
