| RECESS April 8Hi, Boys and Girls. Today is April 8 and I thought it might be fun to make a family dinner. This can be made any time during the day and heated up for supper with a green salad and maybe some corn muffins from the bakery. It’s for chili, but with a twist-an elbow twist that is! Read it and see what I mean. This recipe is from that great cookbook called "Shared Tastes" that was made up by a group called the Butter Paddle Ladies from Saratoga California. Here goes:
What You Need
What to do: Boil water for macaroni. Saute chopped onion and garlic in the oil. Add lean beef to skillet with the onion and garlic. Stir until mixed up. While meat is cooking, add macaroni to the boiling water and cook until tender. When the meat begins to brown, add chili powder. Once the meat has all cooked you should drain of any fat and stir in the can of beans and the can of tomatoes. Do not drain either one. Stir and simmer over low heat for ½ hour. As soon as the macaroni is tender add it and stir it all up. You can heat this up again when you are ready for dinner. I like it with some grated cheese on top too! Enjoy. See you tomorrow-Mrs. L.
