Book Review
Review:
The
book is published by our dear friends at Island Heritage. You remember that is
the place that only publishes books about Hawaii? Well, I picked this book
because it is a good story, but also, it has fabulous pictures. If you have ever
snorkeled, you will know why I say that. Some of the pictures look just like an
underwater scene. The story is called "LIMU, THE BLUE TURTLE."
It is
about a little turtle who is born blue instead of green like all of the other
turtles. At first Limu is sad, but later he meets other sea animals and helps
them in kind ways. He finds a new home where no one cares about the fact that he
is different. I love stories like this because (as we know) they have really,
two meanings. It is about more than a turtle. It could be about a boy or girl
who thinks no one likes them because they are different too. The little turtle
learns that being different is really a good thing because what really matters
is how you are inside.
This story
is written by Kimo Armitage and illustrated by Scott Kaneshiro. Again it has
fabulous pictures-just like snorkeling on a beautiful reef in Hawaii.
Enjoy!
