Book Review
Review:
I have just finished the
best story. It may be a little difficult (dif uh kult-it means hard) for you,
but it is a super story to have a grown up read to you or help you read. It
reminded me a little of a movie I once saw called "The Princess
Bride." It was a wonderful movie and really kept you wanting to know what
was going to happen next. This story is just the same. It is called "The
Road To Paradise."
In this story, there is a
kingdom that is not only prosperous (Prosperous means everyone had plenty and
there were no poor people. PROS purr us) but beautiful as well. All of the
people were happy and had all they could want. They were ruled by a queen who
was loved by all of her people. The queen had a daughter who was also loved by
the people.
The only trouble with this
place was that it was so wonderful that all of the surrounding places became
jealous. They decided to try to conquer (KON ker) the beautiful kingdom so they
could have what others had worked for.
The queen was forced to
fight wars to protect her kingdom. She did not want to do this, but she felt
that she must in order to keep from being over run by invaders.
As things go in life, it
was time for the queen to die. When she knew her time was near, she called her
daughter to her side and gave her a secret message. She told her daughter many
things, (I am not going to tell you all of them and spoil the story!) and placed
in her hands the fate of the kingdom. One of the things she told the princess
was that she must lead the people to a different land so that they could be safe
and prosperous again.
The princess accepts the
responsibility (ree spons uh BILL uh tee) but is unsure exactly what to do. Can
she find "THE ROAD TO PARADISE" that her mother spoke of? Can she save
her people? Will she find her true love along the way? Wouldn’t you like to
