This story, "The
Squirrels’ Thanksgiving, written by Steven Kroll and illustrated by Jeni
Bassett, is about the Squirrel family celebrating their Thanksgiving. Little
Buddy and Brenda Squirrel are told by their parents they have a lot to be
grateful for, but they can only remember the bad things about each other as
brothers and sisters sometimes do.
That night, as they try to
say their prayers, they think about some of the good things they should be
thankful for and that they really do like each other. They go to church the next
morning then their cousins come over for dinner. Boy, the cousins are BRATS!
They are sooo naughty, their parents have to take them home. Buddy and Brenda
learn a big lesson-read the story to see what you think they learned and to see
what YOU can learn.
